Easily one of my new top 10 favorite books. Great horror. This book has set a new standard for just how good books need to be.!

Pepper is taken into police custody and admitted to a mental health facility. There is a monster, The Devil, as the other patients call it, that seems to feed on the patients. All the patients see it and are terrified of it. The patients, including Pepper, are done with being trapped and terrified. But can they come up against The Devil and win?

This book managed to be funny, horrifying, and so meaningful. Published in 2011 and speaking about the horrors of most mental health facilities, this book still speaks to the truth of the horror of some facilities to this very day unfortunately. The author Victor also managed to touch on racism, immigration, and so much more. All while reading like a tv show/movie. Every time I picked it back up it felt like I was watching the next episode of my new favorite show.!
